For Lauren Sánchez, her wedding dress was pure “magic.”
PEOPLE confirmed the Emmy award-winning journalist, 55, tied the knot with husband Jeff Bezos, 61, on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice, Italy. Just hours after the ceremony, Sánchez shared her first wedding photo on Instagram, the account name and bio of which quickly changed to “Lauren Sánchez Bezos.” About half an hour after her first post, Sánchez shared a second post gushing over her wedding dress.
“Not just a gown, a piece of poetry. Thank you @dolcegabbana for the magic you made,” Sánchez wrote.

The bride revealed three photos of herself wearing her high-necked, hand-appliquéd Italian lace wedding dress designed by Dolce&Gabbana during what appears to be dress fittings.
She told the outlet her “timeless” dress was based on the high-necked lace wedding dress Sophia Loren wore to marry Cary Grant in the 1958 film Houseboat.

The dress was more modest than what Sánchez typically goes for.
“It went from ‘I want a simple, sexy modern dress’ to ‘I want something that evokes a moment,’ and where I am right now,” she told the outlet. “I am a different person than I was five years ago.”

In a video posted by Vogue on Instagram, Sánchez said, “It just feels like, I don’t know, it carries everything I’ve walked through to get here. It’s elegant, it’s timeless, it’s soft.”
“Domenico really captured something that feels like where I am right in this moment, right now,” she continued.
Dolce was spotted on Friday heading to the star-studded wedding via boat with Guilherme Siqueira. The pair wore black suits for the formal event.
